Launch Explorer -> in the menu (top, left) click on “Tools” -> go to the very bottom entry “Internet Options” -> select the “Programs” tab -> there it will write “Browsing program by default -> click on the button “Use by default”, you can also check the box next to “Notify if Internet Explorer is not used by default,” so that when you start a window pops up to make the browser the default if you suddenly again set the “main” another browser.
Actions without going into the browser itself

2. Control Panel-> folder properties-> File Types. Carefully go through the list and assign there the default application for the necessary files – IE
To make Microsft Internet Explorer’s native Windows browser by default, launch Internet Explorer and click Yes when the following message is displayed:

If you do not want to use Internet Explorer as your default browser, click No. To prevent this message from appearing in the future, uncheck the Always perform such a check at startup box before clicking the No button.
By default, Internet Explorer checks to see if it is the default browser each time it starts. If, when you start Internet Explorer, the web document files (HTML) are mapped to another browser, Internet Explorer recognizes the situation and offers to choose yourself as the default browser.
